Restricted Registration Pilot for Ontario Medical Residents

The Restricted Registration Pilot for Ontario Medical Residents facilitates the opportunity for eligible Ontario Residents to work for remuneration outside of their academic responsibilities. Through a rigorous application and approvals process, the qualified Residents have the opportunity to do extra call in teaching and community practice locations under supervision. To date, 19 Residents have been approved for 35 certificates – allowing them to work in 11 hospitals across the province. Services that are benefitting from this initiative include: ER, paediatrics, radiology and critical care.
