Jennifer recruits physicians to provide patient care at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care Hospital as well as teach at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With a background in human resources, the physician recruitment portfolio fell into her lap after some department restructuring and she never looked back. Jennifer has assisted in the recruitment of 53 physicians and counting in her seven-year tenure and continues to embrace the unique challenges that recruitment presents.
“I enjoy meeting all of the candidates, learning about their families, their work, and training. This job provides a great sense of satisfaction when you successfully recruit a great physician and help them settle into the community. The one thing I wish I had known earlier is that we are recruiting the entire family, not just the physician, so it’s incredibly important to engage them all.”
Jen discovered CASPR in 2017 when she expanded her connections and her skillset by attending the annual CASPR conference. She has recently come into the role of Membership Chair on the CASPR board of directors and is excited to help grow the organization’s membership.
When she isn’t busy staffing two hospitals and Queen’s U faculty, she enjoys spending time with family, especially her grandsons. She also cares for her pet, Cupid, a retired racehorse from Ohio.
