Covering Expenses for Site Visits from Out-of-Province

May I ask for your advice on what you have done/do when a potential doc expresses interest in your community and asks you about covering the costs for them to fly in for the visit. For us this would involve airfare from Alberta, train from Toronto to Quinte West, plus accommodations and meals.
How do you judge the seriousness of their level of interest? Do you request a CV or other documents ahead of time before making your decision? Do you cover all or just some of the costs?
Given this physician has family in the GTA, I don’t want to be paying for a “visit” if there is not serious intent. Im just not sure how to determine this other than a “gut” feeling. My initial thought is to offer to pay a portion, but not the whole shebang.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
