Hi Alicia, we are mostly concerned with clinical FTE because clincal work requires resources. I work in Ottawa and we are an academic center. The FTE is broken down into clinical, education, research and administration. If you have more specific questions, send me a note at khind@toh.ca.

Hi Alecia, for us 1.0 FTE is 220 "service days" per year. We use this for reporting by regions and by departments. This is also the basis for our full-time and part time service contracts with physicians. The minimum amount of service days for our part-timers is 147.

Hi Alicia - we use the Ontario Ministry of Health definition: Full time is defined by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as 160 days per year seeing a minimum of 18 patients per day. This is for family medicine. Hope this helps.
