LMIA process.

Answer Question

Hi everyone, I’m about to embark on an LMIA application for a psychiatrist from the UK. In 2013 we obtained a positive LMO,again, for a psychiatrist from the UK and that recruitment worked out extremely well. We have been unsuccessful in attracting and recruiting from within Canada. The new process includes an employer transition plan. My ads are now posted on HFO, CASPR and Service Canada job bank. Wondering if I should do some print ads or post on other websites. If anyone has gone through the new process and has had success, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi Fran: I had two successful LMIA applications last year and another site I’d suggest that is ”recognized” is I don’t believe there’s any cost for posting an ad to the site and it will help stregthen your application. In addition, when you submit your LMIA include a ”cover sheet” identifying where you’ve advertised, the date ads were posted and the current status of the ads – I used ”ongoing” and ”Active”. Hope this helps. Regards, Sheila
