Alexandra Marine & General Hospital is seeking a Family Practice Anesthetist (FpA) to provide short-term locum coverage supporting our anesthesia program during a temporary medical leave.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help maintain essential surgical and procedural services in a well-supported, team-based rural hospital setting.

Exclusive of July 20-26 (OR Shutdown period) & August 9-16
Flexible scheduling and partial coverage considered

💼 Compensation

Fee-for-Service (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Hospital On-Call Stipend (4:00pm – 8:00am)
Accommodations available

🏥 Scope of Work

Daily OR coverage Monday to Friday (8am-4pm)
General Surgery + Endoscopy
Obstetrical anesthesia (including epidurals & C-sections)
Procedural sedation & emergent coverage
ECT support
Shared on-call (evenings/weekends)

👥 Team & Supports

3 local GP Anesthetists (on-call support available)
General Surgery, OB, ED (24/7), Hospitalist & Psychiatry support
Strong collegial environment with readily available backup (second set of hands)
