Bluewater Health is seeking a Medical Oncologist committed to providing high-quality care to the residents of Sarnia–Lambton.

Position Highlights & Compensation

·       Remuneration is based on an alternate funding arrangement

·       Office space with administrative support. No overhead costs

·       Attractive relocation and signing incentives

·       Eligible for a clinical faculty appointment with Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University

 

Oncology and Palliative care resources:

Bluewater Health’s oncology program is supported by strong local and regional resources, enabling comprehensive cancer care close to home. Local oncology and palliative resources include:

·       Diagnostic Assessment and systemic therapies for breast, prostate, colorectal and lung

·       Patient Navigator, Drug Access Navigator, oncology pharmacist, and outpatient oncology pharmacy

·       Exceptional local palliative care team

·       Approximately 6,500 treatments per year

·       Excellent specialist support available, including General Surgery, Bronchoscopy service, Urology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and advanced radiology capabilities (MRI, CT, Ultrasound)

·       Affiliation with the London and Windsor Regional Cancer Programs including weekly disease specific site tumor board presentations

 

Ideal Qualifications

·       FRCPC in Internal Medicine and eligible for the Royal College Medical Oncology examinations, with a commitment to obtaining Medical Oncology subspecialty certification

·       Eligible for an independent license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

·       Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident in Canada

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to patient-centered care

·       Interest in training medical students and residents
