Full Time Anesthesiologist Opportunity

CKHA is looking to add one Anesthesiologist who holds a fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada OR is eligible for the Royal College exam to our team. Subspecialty training is not mandatory.

 200-bed hospital offering a full range of medical and diagnostic services including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, CT, MRI, laboratory and respiratory therapy services
 Surgical services: general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, urology, obstetrics/gynecology and dental surgery
 Over 14,000 surgical procedures (including endoscopy) annually
 7 ORs and 2 endoscopy suites are equipped with the latest technology
 Sedation for ERCPs
 Full time Anesthesia Assistant in the OR
 28-bed surgical inpatient unit, 5-bed Level IIb neonatal nursery, up to 6 pediatric beds
 Approximately 850 deliveries annually (24/7 epidural service)
 Pre-anesthesia clinic run by the department

Schedule and Compensation:
Our ORs and Endoscopy Suites run Monday to Friday from 0800-1500. Typically, four days will be spent in either the OR or Endoscopy Unit and the fifth day will be running the hospital’s Anesthesia Consult Clinic. We boast a high volume of well-remunerative major and minor orthopedic cases at CKHA and an incredibly efficient OR team makes frequent case turnover possible. Cases will be equitably shared to ensure optimization of fee-for-service payments for all.

Call is shared equally amongst the team (1 in 6 to 1 in 7 with 6.5 FTE) that offers a daily HOCC stipend. As long as you can get to the hospital within a few minutes, you’re welcome to take the call from home.
