ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Diagnostic Imaging Program of NL Health Services – Eastern Urban Zone invites applications for 5 full-time Radiologists in St. John’s, NL. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established practice of passionate and highly skilled radiologists, while living in a medium-sized city that offers a fantastic balance of outdoor activities, culture, and a great food scene.

The successful candidates will join a group of approximately 40 Radiologists working at tertiary care and teaching hospitals affiliated with the Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Faculty of Medicine. A robust Radiology Residency training program provides opportunities for research and teaching.

The group offers a busy service in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and General Radiology, with a full scope of image-guided procedures. Full Nuclear Medicine facilities are also part of the practice, including two PET-CT scanners. The successful candidate will be expected to work as a general radiologist, though not necessarily across all modalities listed. Additional subspecialty training in any field would be an asset and would be utilized.

On-call responsibilities are shared with Radiology Residents — currently approximately 1 week in 22 (subject to change as staffing levels fluctuate), with an option to perform most call duties from home. Weeks off per year generally range between 10 and 12.

Work Environment

St. John’s is a vibrant, historic city on the eastern tip of North America, offering a warm and welcoming community, a thriving arts and culture scene, and easy access to the stunning natural landscapes of the Avalon Peninsula — including whale watching, hiking, and some of the most dramatic coastlines in Canada.
