The Bethesda Regional Health Centre (BRHC) Emergency Physician group is accepting applications for positions in the Emergency Department at BRHC.
Start date and EFT can be negotiated.
BRHC has a 21 bed Emergency department, that is staffed by at least one physician 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are 12 hours of double coverage, with two physicians on site in the Emergency Department. The site has on-call general surgery, obstetrics and anesthesia services. Respiratory therapy (RT) is available from 0800-1600 from Monday to Friday.
BRHC offers the spectrum of quality acute care services serving a population of over 50,000 residents in community and surrounding area with 73 in-patient beds. Almost 700 staff and 70 physicians make up the staffing complement. From midwifery to palliative care services, a strong surgical program and close partnerships with primary care clinics, Steinbach has a strong history of quality health care.
Shifts may also be filled on a casual basis
Available shifts are a variety of 6, 8 or 12 hours in length
Interested physicians should submit a CV with attention to ED training (example CCFP-EM), experience, up-to-date information regarding certification in PALS, ACLS, NRP and ATLS. Please also provide the names of three references that we may contact.
Required Skills
Medical Degree with post-graduate training in Family Medicine or Royal College Certification in Emergency Medicine
Preferred: Post-graduate training in Family Medicine with Certificate of Added Competency in Emergency Medicine
Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
ACLS
PALS
ATLS
NRP
Procedural Sedation
PoCUS with EDE1 or equivalent
AIME or equivalent airway management course

Several large-scale upgrades are currently taking place to Bethesda campus to help serve the community into the future. A new dialysis centre opened in 2023. 3 new operating suites, 15 additional medicine beds and dedicated staff lounge and call space are components of the upgrades due for completion early 2026.
With a population of over 23,000, Steinbach is the third largest city in Manitoba as well as being the fastest growing city in Manitoba.
