The Boundary Trails Health Centre (BTHC) is accepting applications for Emergency Medicine Physicians positions in the Emergency Department.
Over 700 employees work at BTHC with 80 physicians on staff. The facility houses 94 in-patient beds and offers a full complement of services including home care, public health, mental health, emergency, ambulatory care clinics, intensive care, observation, diagnostics, laboratory, medical, surgery, day surgery, obstetrics, chemotherapy, dialysis, rehab/assess and rehab services OT/PT, speech and audiology. A variety of community and physician-owned clinics provide primary care to the 50,000 area residents. A mental health centre and several long-term care sites are located nearby.
Full and part-time EFT’s are available (0.25, 0.5, 1.0)
ER shifts may also be filled on a casual basis
Interested physicians should submit a CV with attention to ED training (example CCFP-EM), experience, up-to-date information regarding certification in PALS, ACLS and ATLS. Please also provide the names of three references that we may contact.
Required Skills
Medical Degree with post-graduate training in Family Medicine or Royal College Certification in Emergency Medicine
Preferred: Post-graduate training in Family Medicine with Certificate of Added Competency in Emergency Medicine
Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
ACLS
PALS
ATLS
NRP
Procedural Sedation
PoCUS with EDE1 or equivalent
AIME or equivalent airway management course
Additional Details
A multi-phased capital project is underway at BTHC. The first project will open late 2025 and will include a 24 in-patient bed addition and a second-floor shell for a future level II nursery. A new Community Services Building is set to open in 2027 with increased pharmacy services, public health/home care capacity and renovations to the cancer centre and SIM lab.
