Canadian Society of Physician Recruitment Launches Divisional Physician Recruitment Council to Strengthen National Strategy
The Canadian Society of Physician Recruitment (CaSPR) is proud to announce the establishment of its new Divisional Physician Recruitment Council (DPRC), a strategic initiative designed to unify and elevate regional recruitment efforts under a cohesive national framework.
This transformative development stems from CaSPR’s newly launched divisional structure, which includes five geographic divisions: Western, Territorial, Central, Ontario, and Atlantic. These divisions ensure that regional perspectives are not only heard but are instrumental in shaping national physician recruitment priorities.
The DPRC will bring together selected recruitment leaders from across the country to collaboratively address shared challenges, enhance national advocacy, and develop unified solutions that reflect the realities on the ground in communities across Canada.
“For too long, physician recruitment in Canada has been fragmented. By creating this council, CaSPR is responding to the need for structured collaboration and knowledge-sharing across jurisdictions,” said Carly Cox.
The council’s work will focus on:
- Identifying systemic barriers that impede physician recruitment and retention.
- Sharing intelligence on licensure and immigration processes across provinces and territories to inform a national recruitment strategy.
- Enhancing professional education and capacity-building for recruitment professionals.
This initiative aligns with CaSPR’s renewed commitment to:
- National Advocacy
- Regional Engagement
- Professional Development
- Sustainable Infrastructure
A Vision for Unified Progress
CaSPR’s vision is to elevate and unify Canada’s physician recruitment professionals as essential partners in building a stronger, more equitable health system.
Its mission remains clear: to be the national voice for physician recruitment professionals—advocating, educating, and connecting members through partnerships, mentorship, and best practices.
As CaSPR continues to lead the way in recruitment innovation and national workforce planning, the launch of the Divisional Physician Recruitment Council marks a defining moment for collaboration and long-term impact in Canadian healthcare.
