Brightshores Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170,000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre with a Level 3 ICU, offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology).

 

Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lion’s Head, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton and Wiarton, servicing a range of ambulatory, in-patient and emergency needs.

 

ED Team

Our strong, collegial ED team is currently comprised of sixteen (16) full- and part-time permanent Emergency Medicine physicians.

 

Service Delivery

With annual volumes of over 36,000 visits, double-coverage shifts, 24-hour labs, excellent specialty back-up, and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (including 2 MRI’s and 24-hour CT availability), our modern facilities are exceptionally well equipped.

 

Schedule

We schedule five, 8-hour shifts per day, including 16 hours of double physician coverage daily.

 

Opportunity

1-2 full-time (10+ shifts/month) positions, or equivalent in part-time positions, are available within the next 3-6 months.

 

Qualifications

Interested candidates should hold FRCPC or CCFP + EM (or goal to obtain) designations, or CCFP with ED experience.

Independent license to practice in Ontario.

 

Compensation

Alternate Funding Agreement with competitive compensation package including hourly stipend plus % of shadow billings, HOCC allowance.
