Maria Gomez is the Director of Physician Recruitment for West Northumberland, Ontario. Before being named the Director in May 2019, Maria held leadership roles in both non for profit and for profit healthcare industry. Joining the Canadian Medical Association and it’s former subsidiary company, MD Financial Management, Maria quickly became known as a leader who could formulate strategic partnerships and relationships in the healthcare community including a partnership with the Canadian Association of Staff Physician Recruitment, Health force Ontario, and the Local Health Authority. It was there, Maria found her passion to support physician’s transition in to practice and finding the right career opportunity.
Originally from downtown Toronto, Maria attended Seneca College and graduated with president’s honours, which soon led to her interest to pursue her biology degree at Trent University. In addition, she holds her Registered Professional Recruiters Certification and Fellowship with CASPR.
Krista is the HR Manager for the Department of Medicine, Ottawa Hospital/University of Ottawa. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional, Certified Human Resources Leader and a Registered Professional Recruiter. The position of HR Manager is responsible for all aspects of the human resources service in the Department, including the recruitment and retention of staff physicians. Krista works closely with management in support of departmental strategic goals; specifically in the area of international recruitment of physicians.
Karen joined the Kenora All Nations Health Partners recruitment and retention committee in July 2018 as the first fulltime community recruiter for physicians and healthcare professionals in Kenora, Ontario. The role was created through partnerships among the First Nations and organizations in the community and she is proud to be part of this historic juncture. She graduated from the concurrent B. SC/MLT program at the University of Windsor/St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario and worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist throughout Northwestern and Central Ontario for sixteen years.
Her career in healthcare provided incredible experience working in a variety of communities with diverse patient populations, physicians and professional staff which has been extremely beneficial in my new recruiting role, especially being able to relate first-hand to what relocating feels like. I am enjoying being part of people’s journey and helping them find the right fit and work-life balance.

Caroline Rocheleau grew up in Greenstone and now works at Geraldton District Hospital. The past 3 years she has worked as a front line health care worker and also administrative. With her knowledge and enthusiasm for the hospital and community she is now moved to a new role as a Physician Recruiter. Her goal is assisting those not only who practice rural medicine but a place to call home that's fit the need of the individual and family.
The Education Committee is responsible for designing and maintaining the CASPR Fellowship Certification program materials.
