Mental Health, Recovery Alberta is inviting applications for a General Psychiatrist with experience or training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to establish a full-time practice in the community of PEACE RIVER, Alberta.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
· Establish and maintain a full-time community mental health-based practice within Peace River.
· Provide hospital and call support as required.
· Support psychiatric services (including Child & Adolescent psychiatry) beyond primary community of practice, which may include but not be limited to Area 1 & Area 2 North Zone communities experiencing a high need for mental health services; the support may be either in-person or utilizing Telehealth or another form of telecommunication.
· Contribute to and participate in teach programs and activities.
· Contribute and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or by opening their own practice. This is the candidate’s business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
Peace River is a vibrant town in the heart of northwest Alberta. Geographically, the town has been gifted with some of the most breathtaking landscapes in all of Alberta. The town itself is set on the banks of the Peace River and the surrounding neighborhoods straddle the river valley, providing breathtaking views enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. A progressive theatre company is active in the community, the museum hosts monthly exhibitions, several music venues attract national acts on a regular basis and one of Alberta’s most popular two-day music festivals – Peace Fest – goes ahead each July, taking advantage of the long, warm summer nights. A network of trails straddle town and can accommodate running, hiking, biking and exploring. There is an eight kilometer paved path that runs along the river. Fishing, boating and photography are popular river pursuits. You will also find an indoor swimming pool, a hockey arena, several outdoor rinks, squash and racquetball courts, gymnasiums and numerous sports clubs within the community. Peace River is home to an impressive combination of businesses including locally owned downtown stores and restaurants, as well as nationally and internationally recognized retailers, attracting shoppers and diners from all corners of the northwest. The Town of Peace River is on hand and happy to provide more information, to answer any questions or to organize an orientation through a part of the world they would like everybody to experience and enjoy.

Required Qualifications:
- Current Alberta Practice Permit or valid CPSA Letter of Eligibility to practice in the advertised position (proof of to be included with application).
- Must be specialized in Psychiatry; interest or experience in Child & Adolescent psychiatry is considered an asset.
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or eligibility)

Compensation
Compensation: Clinical Alternate Relationship Plan – This ARP is an income guarantee which is determined by FTE definition 214 days of service = 1.0 FTE valued at a maximum amount of $436,094.61 per annum. Additional payment may be eligible through the RRNP (Rural & Remote Northern Program) at a rate of 20.9%.
