Compensation Grid Compensation range is between Level 1 $416,192 per annum to Level 3 $531,341 per annum. Incentives/Benefits The total service days requirement is 210 service days per annum. The Oncologists are eligible for Additional Workload Compensation during the position vacancies in Cancer Care Alberta. CCA provides a recruitment support incentive that includes the following conditional on leadership approval: 1. Relocation Support: up to $18,500 for recruits within North America and up to $25,000 for recruits outside North America. 2. AHS Sponsorship Support if required. 3. The Department of Oncology, Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services, Community Oncology in conjunction with University of Alberta invite applications for a full-time Medical Oncologist position at the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre (GPCC) in Grande Prairie, Alberta to start as soon as possible.

The successful applicant will become a member of a multidisciplinary cancer program located at the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre (GPCC) site in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and will join a team of Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Nurse Practitioners and medical support staff working in the North Zone.

Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services provides strong mentorship and professional development support and promotes active academic collaboration between the colleagues in the regional and tertiary Oncology sites in Alberta. Cancer Care Alberta is currently working on a clinical trial program initiative in the Community Oncology, and the successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clinical trial program development.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in local and provincial tumor team-based activities including clinical case reviews at tumor board rounds, annual, provincial tumor team meetings, local quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications include an MD, certification in Internal Medicine or Medical Oncology or equivalent, special competency in Medical Oncology or equivalent. The candidate must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. They must read, write, and speak English fluently.

The Grande Prairie Cancer Centre is a new building located within the new Grande Prairie Regional Hospital which opened in 2021. The GPCC is one of four Regional Cancer Centres within Cancer Care Alberta’s Community Oncology portfolio. Serving Northern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia, cancer care practice at the GPCC is centered on seven major tumor groups, with rarer tumors managed in conjunction with consultation and expertise from the tertiary centers in Edmonton and Calgary.
