This opportunity is for an individual to join our current group of Family Medicine practitioners with a turnkey family medicine practice in one or more of our three clinics – each clinic is different so you can choose your perfect fit! In addition, there is an option to join the Emergency Department, Obstetrics or Hospitalist group.

The Kenora Opportunity:  
Family Physicians work in one or more of our three clinics with the Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT), Kenora Chiefs Advisory(KCA) and Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig (WNHAC). Your Family Medicine practice will be fully supported by a team comprised of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacy and Chiropody and other specialties.  All of our Family Medicine clinics use the Telus PSS Electronic Medical Record. New physicians to the Kenora area find they are supported by our local physician group, specialists, and service organizations.

The Lake of Woods District Hospital is a 65 bed Accredited teaching hospital that offers a full range of emergency and ambulatory care, mental health, maternal and child health, and acute care services, including general medicine, intensive care, surgical services, and palliative care. It also manages a broad range of outpatient services including dialysis, chemotherapy, diagnostic imaging, mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, visiting specialist clinics, addiction counseling and detoxification, a sexual assault program, physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, and various education programs.

Lake of the Woods Health Sciences Campus in Kenora is designated one of Northwestern Ontario’s Health Care Hubs and is a Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) teaching site. Preceptor, Faculty Appointment, and research opportunities are available with our Local Education Group (LEG).

Remuneration is rewarding and representative of the work you will do. Compensation will vary with scope of services provided (avg between $1,749,77-$2,308.20 per 8hr day) plus OHIP Billing. Reach out for more information on compensation based on your interests and dream practice portfolio!

Required Qualifications:
Current (or eligible to apply for) valid independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Emergency Department work requires current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS training OR CCFP or CCFP (EM), or FRCP (EM)
