JOB / ORGANIZATION INFORMATION
The Chatham-Kent Family Health Team (CKFHT) currently has 6 positions available spread out between our Chatham, Ridgetown, Dresden, Blenheim, and Wallaceburg sites. Physicians would build a roster and absorb unattached patients, or take over a practice if available.
This is a full-time position, 36 to 40 hours per week. Part-time, Casual or Locum work is also available.
Chatham-Kent has approximately 60 family physicians working in Chatham-Kent with 22 working at CKFHT. The Interdisciplinary team at CKFHT consists of the following: NPs, RNs, RPNs, Social Workers, Pharmacist, Chiropodist, Dietitian, Respiratory Therapists, Diabetes Dietitians & Educator, Occupational Therapist, Health Promoter, and Psychotherapists, as well as administrative staff. There is an internal IT team and the EMR is Accuro.
Chatham-Kent is a distributed teaching site for Schulich, and is a Family Medicine Resident Teaching Site. Many education opportunities for physicians are available at the health teams, CKHA, through the CK Task Force and Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team (CKOHT).
Minimum one-year experience.
Education: Doctor of Medicine
License: CCFP / College of Family Physicians Certificate, Licensure by Provincial or Territorial Authorities / Medical Council of Canada
Family physician’s primary duties:
· Examining patients and taking their histories
· Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures
· Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ health
· Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
· lnoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
· Advise patients on healthcare
· Communicate health promotion/disease prevention to patients
· Provide Counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
Compensation would be a combination of Blended Capitation/Fee for Service. Approximately $260,000-$460,000 per year.
Turn-key operation with a fixed overhead per month. The CKFHT will hire and train administrative staff. Your monthly overhead includes: an office, 2 exam rooms with equipment, nurse and administrative staff. Possibly eligible for income stabilization and newcomer stipend of $25,000 for full-time practice as well as substantial private incentives at some locations.
This position is under the Family Health Organization (FHO).
