The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)-Regina seek an exceptional Pediatrician to be part of our dynamic and expanding department.  Successful candidates will join our department on a full-time basis, providing both inpatient pediatric services and a community pediatric practice. Competitive Remuneration under the ACFP contract.

 

Call requirements are negotiated to ensure appropriate coverage while providing the necessary work-life balance for department members. Currently call requirements range from 2-6 overnight calls per month, 2-6 weeks [HA1] on duty in the pediatric teaching unit per year and up to 6 weeks on duty in the mother baby unit per year. Those participating in calls are reimbursed as part of the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program and also bill fee-for-service for work completed.

 

Regina’s Pediatric Department includes a diverse blend of Pediatricians, a Developmental Pediatrician, a Pediatric Nephrologist, a Pediatric Clinical Immunologist & Allergist and Neonatologists. Pediatricians within the department provide a range of clinical services including community clinics, pediatric outpatient ambulatory services, Wascana Children’s Program for children with developmental needs, normal newborn care, a NICU and an inpatient pediatric teaching unit and a high acuity area. Children requiring PICU care are transferred to a provincial PICU in Saskatoon following stabilization.

 

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. Members of the department are eligible for appointment to the faculty of the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, and take part in academic services, including teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners. Weekly pediatric grand rounds are provided by Telehealth from Saskatoon in addition to monthly pediatric educational rounds, and quality improvement meetings. The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Pediatrics in the Regina Area.

Successful candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Pediatrics and be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high quality patient and family-centered care.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
