The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a team oriented psychiatrist to provide a generalized psychiatry service in Yorkton, SK and area. The position provides opportunity to work in broad areas of psychiatry ranging from children and adolescents to a senior population. The psychiatrist will be part of the multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, social workers, and psychologists and addiction counselors. He or she will provide leadership to the team in a collegial approach and be ready to work with external bodies as required. In addition to regular clinic, the psychiatrist will provide in-patient service, emergency coverage on a rotational basis and travel to satellite clinics to provide services at least once a week. The position provides integrated mental health and addiction services including both inpatient and outpatient care.
This position will remain open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date.
*Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or have a valid letter of eligibility (Not required if eligible for Ministerial License with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan)
*Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) or be eligible for
*A valid drivers license
*Legal entitlement to work in Canada
*Minimum of 3 acceptable references
*An acceptable criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
*Experience providing Generalist Psychiatry services within a catchment model
*Demonstrable evidence in multidisciplinary approach of care/management
*Understanding of Saskatchewan provincial laws and regulations of commitment and release of the mentally ill under the Mental Health Services Act would be an asset
*In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents

The successful candidate may be eligible for (depending on program requirements and eligibility):
- The Psychiatry Recruitment and Retention Incentive which provides up to $200,000 over 5 years
- The Specialist Recruitment Incentive program, which provides $30,000 to an eligible specialist that establishes a practice for a minimum of thirty-six months in a Saskatchewan community.
- The SMA Retention Fund, which provides financial reward to physicians who practice in the province for extended periods ranging from $7,000 – $14,000 per year
- Up to $25,000 relocation incentive
