General Surgery Locum Opportunity – On-Call Only

We are seeking General Surgeons for on-call locum coverage for Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing, Ontario.

Compensation

On-Call Daily Rate:
$1,688.78 per day + Daily Honorarium: $363.57 = $ 2,052.35
Travel Time Compensation

3–5 hours: $556.26 + daily honorarium $363.57 = $ 919.83
6–8 hours: $1,112.52 + daily honorarium $363.57 = $ 1,476.09
9–12 hours: $1,668.78 + daily honorarium $363.57 = $ 2,032.35
Accommodation

Three Keycode operated furnished apartments available (subject to availability) situated just across the parking lot from the Hospital.
Rate: $150 per night – costs are reimbursed through the NSLP (Northern Specialist Locum Program)
Travel

Travel costs are reimbursed through the NSLP (Northern Specialist Locum Program) as per guidelines.
Locums usually travel from Toronto to Timmins with either Air Canada or Porter Air Lines then rent a vehicle in Timmins to drive to Kapuskasing (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes)

Laparoscopic Surgery: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Colon Resection, Hernia Repair
Emergency Procedures: Laparotomies, Abscess Drainage
Breast Surgery: Mastectomy, Lumpectomy
General Surgery: Panniculectomy, Hernia Repairs, Varicose Vein Surgery
Benign Perianal Disease: Hemorrhoids, Fissures, Fistulas
OB/GYN: Laparoscopic Tubal Occlusion, Salpingectomy, Emergency Surgery for Ectopic Pregnancy, D&Cs, Insertion and Removal of Nexplanon
Urology: Vasectomy, Emergency Suprapubic Catheterization, Circumcision, Testicular Torsion
Minor Procedures: Removal of Port-A-Cath Catheters, “Lumps and Bumps” (Skin Lesions, Lipomas, Temporal Artery Biopsy, etc.)
Hand/Wrist Surgery: Carpal Tunnel Release, Ganglion Excision, Trigger Finger Release
Other: Skin Grafts, Toe Amputation
