CaSPR was initially formed as a Regional Chapter of the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment and maintains a liaison relationship with theparent organization.
CaSPR offers a means for those involved with physician recruitment from across Canada to share best practices, techniques, and tools which relates to all aspects of physician attraction and retention.

CaSPR enhances and promotes a national membership of stakeholders involved with physician recruitment and retention through education, networking, best practices and advocacy.

Stakeholders involved in physician recruitment and retention work in a variety of settings, including government, hospitals, clinics, universities, and communities.
CaSPR membership is open to those individuals who are engaged in the recruitment and retention of physicians to serve the healthcare needs of the community(s) they represent, and who are employed and/or volunteer with organizations including hospitals, hospital corporations, clinics, health regions or authorities, public sector municipal, provincial or federal government agencies. Employees from third-party search firms, or who are affiliated with a third-party search firm, are not eligible for CaSPR membership. Consultants or employees who work for management companies are not eligible for membership.
