Does anyone have a community that offers retention incentives for existing physicians to either keep them in the community, or to assist with costs such as the replacement of outdated equipment etc.?

Northern Ontario benefits from the Ministry’s Northern Physician Retention Initiative (NPRI) – http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/northernhealth/npri.aspx – which is $7,000 annually. Family Physicians and specialists are eligible after they have provided at least 4 consecutive years of service in their Northern Ontario community. They may access the Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (NRRRI) during their first four years – $80,000 to $117,000 depending on the community – http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/northernhealth/nrrr.aspx.
