The Department of Palliative Care at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is seeking a GP / family physician for a permanent APP funded position. TBRHSC is also seeking eligible locums with an independent license to practice in Ontario to provide locum support in 2024.

Terms of Employment

Our program serves patients at TBRHSC (acute care), St. Joseph’s Care Group (palliative care unit) and in the community. The program provides inpatient service, outpatient clinics, home and community care. We work closely with the Regional Cancer Centre, and provide telehealth consultation in rural and remote communities across Northwestern Ontario. Average call coverage is 1/6 weeks to support
patients in Thunder Bay and the Region.

Required Skills

We are seeking a physician who values the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones. The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively with the care team and is dedicated to communicating openly with their patients and colleagues.

Other Qualifications Include:
- Independent license or eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Member of the CFPC or RCPSC.
- Additional training in Palliative Care an asset.
- Demonstrated clinical abilities and experience in palliative care.
